Quito, May 12, 2017.- The III Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Latin American and Caribbean Council of Civil Registry, Identity and Vital Statistics (CLARCIEV) was concluded in Quito. The meeting was held on 11 and 12 May at the facilities of the Military Geographic Institute (IGM).
The deliberations of this regional meeting were chaired by the President of CLARCIEV and General Director of Civil Registry, Identification and Cedulation of Ecuador, Mr. Jorge Troya Fuertes and counted on the presence of its 5 vice presidents: from Argentina, Juan José D’Amico; Mexico, Roberto Zárate; Costa Rica, Luis Bolaños; Panama, Sharon Sinclaire of Dumanoir and Jorge Álvarez from Chile.
The meeting allowed for a diagnosis of the work to be carried out by the six working groups as part of the Strategic Plan 2015-2020.

On the first day, the working groups met with a previously defined theme in order to establish goals and indicators to measure performance by country and by region. On the second day, a plenary session was held in which each vice-chairman presented the work of his panel to both the CLARCIEV Presidency and the Executive Secretariat, to evaluate the operational plan of each working groups. At the end of the meeting, there were observations, readjustments to indicators, consensus, all within the framework of compliance with the Strategic Plan.
Another topic addressed by the experts was the Fourteenth Meeting of the CLARCIEV General Assembly, to be held in Argentina, tentatively on 8, 9 and 10 November. At the moment, it defines the theme on which this encounter will turn.
