The XIV Meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Council of Civil Registry, Identity and Vital Statistics (CLARCIEV) will be from November 8th to 10th of this year in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The next CLARCIEV meeting will bring together the Directors of Civil Registry of more than 20 countries of the Americas, representatives of international organizations, as well as other prominent public officials and specialists in the field of civil identity at the international level.
The objective is to provide a forum for the exchange of regional experiences on essential aspects to the strengthening of Civil Registries such as the information management, equipment for optimizing registration campaigns, identity management processes, management of registry information, database security, among others.
CLARCIEV has annual meetings. Through conferences and workshops an exchange of information and knowledge is generated, updating institutions on the advances on civil registration practices, and tracing compromises for their continuous improvement. Each reunion defines its agenda based on a topic chosen by its members through the director’s committee. After each meeting, a declaration is produced expressing the commitments established by the institutions to continue promoting their improvement.
The 2016-2018 CLARCIVE Committee has defined the agenda item for the next meeting of CLARCIEV, this being the «Identity – Digital Agenda»: Identity as the cornerstone of an integrated digital governance strategy.
